Annual Report 2011-2012    


 Highlights for 2011-12 include:

  • answered 4,553 enquiries

  • received 1,243 complaints and finalised 1,396 complaints

  • provided training for around 6,500 people in 399 workplace training sessions, plus 1,300 people in community training

  • provided advice on 23 applications for exemption from the Anti-Discrimination Act 

  • published new guidelines for local councils

  • ran successful photo competition for young people

  • participated in Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras  

  • visited Wilcannia to discuss community concerns about discrimination

  • separation of sexual harassment complaints from sex discrimination for reporting purposes reveals these constitute almost half of all sex discrimination complaints, and almost all relate to the workplace.
