image of speaker at a community conferenceWe can provide an expert speaker for your community event, seminar, workshop, meeting or conference. We can speak on:

  • your rights and responsibilities under anti-discrimination law
  • lodging a complaint with the Anti-Discrimination Board
  • dealing with harassment and sexual harassment.
We can adapt any of our talks to suit the size and needs of your group. We can cater our information for specific audiences such as young people, parents, seniors, Aboriginal communities, people with a disability and people from different cultural backgrounds.​

Information stalls​​

We also provide information stalls for conferences, careers days and community events such as International Day of People with a Disability, NAIDOC events, Law Week, the Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras Fair Day, Yabun Festival, Harmony Day and Sydney Homeless Connect.

Depending on the type of event, there may be a charge. You may also need to provide your own interpreter where required.​​​

Other services

  • Conciliation:​ We investigate and conciliate complaints under the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW)
  • Community consultation: We engage with the community and industry groups to identify opportunities to address discrimination and increase awareness about the role of the Board.
  • Advice to government: We provide advice to the government on relevant legislative matters.​
