This is a practical training course for Contact Officers whose role is to listen, support, inform and discuss workplace concerns with their co-workers. They will learn to help others make sound, informed and early decisions about dealing with behaviour that is, or could become, discrimination, harassment or bullying. Participants will practice their new skills and knowledge through exercises and activities in the safety of the training room.

This training course is also provided as a refresher for people who have previously attended Contact Officer sessions. This will enable participants to sharpen their skills, update their knowledge and share their experience.​

Content

  • laws relating to discrimination, bullying and sexual harassment
  • basic conflict resolution and fair grievance handling principles
  • communicating with people who may be angry, distressed, anxious or unreasonable

To do this training course your organisation must have a fully developed grievance procedure incorporating Contact Officers.

Sydney: 22 March, 22 November
Newcastle: 2 August

Time: 9am – 5pm (full day)
Cost: $835 (includes GST)
Includes: morning tea, lunch, course materials
