Understanding the new GSE Act regime

Under the new Government Sector Employment Act 2013 and Rules, public sector agencies are tasked with achieving diversity while avoiding unlawful discrimination, and implementing new capability and performance management frameworks. 

This training seminar addresses the complexities involved, answers questions and delivers practical skills and knowledge to smooth the path to full compliance. 

Content:

  • the impact of the GSE Act on diversity and discrimination, inclusion and Workforce Diversity Groups (EEO). 
  • the ongoing relevance of the anti-discrimination,  Work Health and Safety and privacy legislation in the NSW public sector
  • recruitment, including targeted recruitment from specific groups, based on merit but taking advantage of the exemption clauses in the ADA
  • avoiding allegations of discrimination and bullying as a result of performance development, change management and grievance handling
  • implementing policies, procedures, strategies and action plans to achieve diversity
