Do it Right forums

Do it Right! Come and have a yarn with us.

Do it Right! is a free seminar on employment issues for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people.

The forums are called 'Marrambul Mali' (pronounced 'Murrum-bull mully') - Do it Right.

Do it right! is a joint initiative between a number of government agencies. Aboriginal advisors from these and other agencies come along to meet with young people, have a chat and answer their questions about employment and workplace issues. Having all the agencies in one place is very helpful because it enables the young people to understand how the different laws interact.

Issues covered in the seminar include:

  • harassment and discrimination
  • employment rights and obligations under the different laws
  • workplace safety
  • tax and superannuation
  • consumer rights and fair trading
  • rights to training
  • the kind of policies employers should have
